The Lakefront House - Cabarita Beach

Loved it - fantastic property with the beautiful key features of the pool, lake and canoes. Positive: Beautiful location, very relaxing and so close to everything. A truly lovely property and house. Negative: Due to personal physical restrictions, the split levels (& therefore stairs) from room to room or area to area (pool > deck > outdoor entertaining > lounge > kitchen/bathroom > bedroom) was an issue for me. But this is also a feature of the house design and wouldn’t be an issue for those with full mobility. An upgrade on kitchen crockery, cutlery and utensils would be a lovely touch.

Disappointing Positive: Nice location Negative: It was poorly maintained and not cleaned well inside eg. fridge smelled like fish and not at all outside eg. Outdoor setting was covered in spiders and bird poo. We had 1 roll of toilet paper for 4 people, someone’s belongings were left behind. The wifi didn’t work and the insects were ridiculous and all throughout the house, even when doors and windows were closed. The wifi didn’t work and we didn’t get any resolution from contact with host.

Great house, outlook and position. Positive: All was great, would be fabulous if there was another bathroom or even just toilet. Toilet in the bathroom was a struggle with a few ladies.

Fantastic stay for couple with two XL dogs Positive: The Lake House was a very comfortable and peaceful stay for two adults and two XL dogs (with prior approval). It is a split level home, plenty of space in our opinion, the setting is stunning. There is a king, a queen and two single beds which we found comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with a large gas stove and oven and all the necessities. We appreciated the deck, bbq, pool and the kayaks too. Beach towels onsite for pool if you don't bring your own as we did. The yard is completely fenced at the front of the property but the backyard is not fenced and backs on to the lake. Our dogs didn't roam too far. The location was excellent, less than 5mins to the beach and shops. We'll definitely be booking again. Negative: Squeaky queen bed - needs tightening. The towel rails in the bathroom are beginning to sag and need some attention. Some mould or dirt (?) on the sheer blinds particularly. There's a sharp bit of metal poking up in the front yard which my husband caught his foot on (he left a large rock covering it. It's between the driveway and the garden bed outside the queen bedroom window). The internal stairs are quite steep with "shallow" treads - just something to be mindful of.
